James Joseph Schmidt

James Joseph Schmidt passed away at home with family on December 3, 2024 at the age of 78 born January 6, 1946 in Bloomington, Illinois to the late Joseph and Mary Schmidt. Jim spent his last day surrounded by family in Spartanburg South Carolina. 

Jim will be missed by all who knew him together Jim and his wife Wanda raised a family that includes three daughters Shelley Allen married to Greg Sheila Cain married to Joel, Jenny Wright and son Thomas 

Jim was an amazing grandfather to 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Marilyn Jean, and was proceeded in death by his siblings John Schmidt and Rita beck in his younger years. He worked as an ironworker local 433 out of Los Angeles, California when he retired from ironwork, he opened his own computer business that he ran for 20 years. 

He then sold his computer business and retired a second time and moved to South Carolina where he got involved with the Wofford college men’s basketball. He knew all the players and the coaches and tried never to miss a game no matter where they played. 

We will miss him forever.
