James Henry Hastings

James Henry Hastings, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, passed away on January 17, 2024, in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Born on September 4, 1978, in Dover, New Hampshire, Jim's early years were filled with the warmth and love of a close-knit family that would shape the remarkable man he would become.

Jim was a beacon of light in the lives of his family members, who cherished his loving, kind, and gentle nature. He was a beloved grandson to Barbara Maloney and Judy Shaughnessy, a treasured son to Richard Hastings and Pamela Santone, and a valued stepson to Paul Santone. His siblings, Stacy Visnich, Jeffrey Austin, Ashley, Brandon and Jeremy saw him as more than just a brother - he was a true friend and confidant. Jim's playful spirit and unwavering support were a joy to his three nieces, three nephews, two uncles, and seven aunts.

Professionally, Jim's passion for people led him to a fulfilling career in travel sales, where his friendly demeanor and attention to detail made him a favorite among clients and colleagues alike.

Outside of work, Jim's interests were as diverse as they were enthusiastic. He had a special talent for refurbishing cars, a hobby that combined his love for mechanics with an artistry that made each project unique. His creative soul found joy in both art and music, often sharing his creations with loved ones and leaving a legacy of beauty in his wake.

A devoted sports fan, Jim's loyalty to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning was unwavering. Whether it was a thrilling victory or a heart-wrenching defeat, he stood by his teams with the same steadfastness that he showed to his friends and family.
