James Ray Griffin

James Ray Griffin passed away to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the age of 73 from a battle with cancer. He was born on September 24, 1949, in Asheville, NC to Samuel and Margie Griffin, he was one of 4 children. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Joan Griffin; brothers: Phillip Griffin (Asheville, NC) and Mike Griffin (Weaverville, NC); daughters: Morgan Griffin and Harmony Griffin (Charleston, SC); sons: Phillip Griffin and John “J.T.” Griffin (Simpsonville, SC) and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He is also survived by many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Margie Griffin, his sister Barbara Bullman Griffin and sister-in-law Rhonda Griffin (Asheville, NC). Jim was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying bowling and golfing. He loved talking about cars and listening to music, as well as spending time with his family. He will be forever missed and loved by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Cremation Society of SC/Westville Funerals on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6 – 8 pm.
