James Thomas Donovan

James Thomas Donovan, known affectionately as Jim, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023, in Charleston, SC. Born on December 4, 1949, in Goffstown, NH, Jim was a man of many talents and interests, known for his humor, handiness, and creativity.

Jim was a proud graduate of Westford Academy in Massachusetts. After graduation, he embarked on a successful career running a drywall business. His hard work and dedication were evident in the quality of his work and the respect he earned from his peers and clients. Jim's creativity was not just confined to his professional life. He was also a skilled beekeeper and an automotive enthusiast. His love for these hobbies was infectious, and he often shared his knowledge and passion with those around him.

Jim was a man who loved to laugh and make others laugh. His sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities, and he had a knack for telling stories that would leave everyone in stitches. He was also incredibly handy, always ready to lend a hand or fix anything that was broken. His creativity shone through in everything he did, from his work to his hobbies, and even in the way he approached life.

Family was at the heart of everything Jim did. He is survived by his son, Seamus O'Donovan; his brothers, Daniel and Khris Donovan; his sister, Mary (Frank) Porter; and his ex-wife, Christine Donovan. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his humor and wisdom. Jim was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. His love for his family was evident in the time and care he invested in them.

In remembering Jim, we celebrate a life well-lived. A life filled with laughter, creativity, and a deep love for family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. His memory will be cherished, and his life will be celebrated for the joy and warmth he brought into the world. We will remember Jim for his humor, his handiness, his creativity, and most importantly, his love for his family. He will be deeply missed.
