Greenville-James Campbell Brunson, 87, died peacefully on 7/18/20 at North Greenville
Hospital from COVID-19.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Harry Brunson, and his wife, Ruth.
Survivors include his brother, David Brunson of Cumming, Ga. and sister, Elizabeth Meyer of
Greenville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on September 22, 1932, and grew up in Cairo, Ga.
He graduated from Cairo High School, attended the University of Alabama and played
trombone in the Million Dollar Band. He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman for 18
years, last stationed in Viet Nam during the war. He was a member of Fourth
Presbyterian Church.
Jimmy gave great hugs and warm kisses. He loved his Lord, his family, classical music,
Pawleys Island, Alabama football (Roll Tide!), and everyone he ever met. He will be missed.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
