Jake Allen

Jake Allen, age 83, of Simpsonville, SC was born June 9th, 1938 in Union Springs, Alabama, to Elijah Allen and Ola Mae (Blackmon) Allen. After the sudden passing of his parents, he was raised by his late uncle K.P. and Minnie (Blackmon) Parker.
Jake Allen relocated to East Orange, New Jersey. There he met and married his wife Josephine (Toman) Allen of over 54 years. They lived in East Orange well over 40 years and had six children.
Jake Allen worked for the City of East Orange Dept of Public Works, Shade Tree Division, on July 5, 1972 serving 38 years until his retirement in April 9, 2010. He and his wife Josephine Allen relocated to South Carolina where they enjoyed their years until his departure from this life Monday, January 31st, 2022, at his home in Simpsonville, South Carolina surrounded by his love ones.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his lottery and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Josephine Allen, his children Joanne Herbin, preceded in death (Lamont) of Roxboro, NC, Darren Allen (Tira) of New Jersey, Denise Allen (Fiancé’ Charles) of Spartanburg SC, Jake Allen of Roxboro, NC, Rene’ Marie Rosa (Tyrone) of Simpsonville, SC, Dawn Marie Middleton (Sean, Sr,) of West Orange, NJ, Earl Bynum of Douglasville, GA and Mary Arlene Draper of Alabama and. Marvella Johnson of North Carolina. Sisters: Bertha Allen of Newark, NJ, Hattie Streeter of Union Springs Alabama, Minnie (Lovie) Crawford of Alabama. Brothers: Willie C. (Sarah) Allen of Alabama and Willie J. Parker (Mary) of Alabama. Sister-in-Laws: Delores Allen of New Jersey (wife of Louis Allen) and Lorene Allen (wife of Tommie Lee Allen) of Alabama. Proceeded in Death: Brothers Charlie (Bear) Allen, Ben (Bibit) Allen, Hollie (Jody) Allen, Elijah (Popcorn) Allen, Louis Allen, Tommie Lee Allen and a sister Margaret (Maggie Mae) Brooks.
Jake Allen leaves behind 19 grandkids and 5 great-grands and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
