Jack Dempsey Kerns, Sr.

Jack Dempsey Kerns Sr. 89 of Greenville went to be with the Lord March 31, 2015. He was the son of the late Hamilton Y. and Virginia Ward Kerns. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Putman Kerns, grandson Todd Stolaas, a brother Tom Kerns, and a sister Hazel Barnes.

He proudly served his country in the Navy in WWII.

He is survived by two daughters: Rosalind Quinn and Jacqueline McCarter and her spouse Robby; two sons: Boyce H. Kerns and Jack D. Kerns, Jr. and his spouse Betsy; seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers.

Our sincere thanks go to Dad's in home hospice nurse, Michael. You were wonderful and Dad loved and trusted you. Also thanks to McCall Hospice House nurses.

A service will be held at White Oak Baptist Church on Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC on April 3rd. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, with service following.

Graveside services will be private at a later date.

The family will be at the home of his daughter Jackie.
