Iwilda Creech passed away peacefully in her sleep early on Friday night, November 10th, at the age of 90. Her decline had been steady but she was comfortable, calm, and very happy in her clear moments. Mrs. Creech was born in Jones County, NC to Wayne and Bernice Jarman; she was the eldest of five siblings. She relocated to coastal Virginia after marrying William J. Creech, Sr. where they built Cavalier Realty, a successful real estate and development company. Bill and Iwilda were the proudest parents to their son Bill and eventually followed him and his family to Roanoke, VA. She became a faithful member of Grandin Court Baptist Church and took great pride in her participation in the Grand-N-Glory choir. Iwilda was a world traveler who loved to recall the multitude of experiences she had enjoyed in her life time, specifically her uncanny connection to Italy.
Iwilda was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Creech Sr.; son, William J. Creech Jr.; and granddaughter, Sarah Creech. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Janice Creech and grandson, William J. Creech III and his family. We rejoice in her healing and are thankful that she has been welcomed by those she's missed so dearly.
A small graveside service will be held at Franklin Memorial Park in Rocky Mount, VA at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 2nd,2017. Please consider a donation to your local Hospice Care in lieu of flowers.
