Ingeborg Brenner DeKalb, 83, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Greenville. Born on April 28, 1934 in Germany to Heinrich and Elsa Brenner, she lived in Georgia previously before moving to Greenville 57 years ago. She worked as a seamstress in the sewing industry and she loved working in the yard, cooking Lasagna, Slobby - Dobby Slaw and Beef Stroganoff.
Ingeborg is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Henry DeKalb; her brother, Fred Brenner and her longtime companion, Carl Stokes. Ingeborg is survived by her two daughters, Laura Hines (Glenn) and Mary Ann Johnson (Chris); her son, Lenny DeKalb (Nancy); her nine grandchildren, her seven great grandchildren.
Services to remember and honor her life will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the Chapel of Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville. A gathering of Family and Friends Will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family will gather following at the home of Chris and Mary Ann Johnson, 122 Ellie Drive, Piedmont, South Carolina 29673.
