Hettie Lambert, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, in Greer, South Carolina. Born on September 9, 1932, in Surry County, North Carolina, Hettie was deeply loved by friends and family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Elihue "Pat" and Miranda Viola Cook Thompson and was predeceased by her 12 brothers and sisters.

Hettie’s career spanned many years at the Hanes Hosiery/Sara Lee Yadkinville Plant in North Carolina, where she retired after a long and fulfilling tenure. Her colleagues remember her as a hardworking and inspiring presence. She took great pride in her work and was hard-working, always willing to give to those less fortunate than herself. In addition, she worked hard to become a cosmetologist, using her skills to help unlock the beauty in others.


Beyond her professional life, Hettie was a woman of many interests. She found joy in the simplicity of baking, delighting family and friends with her delicious creations. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her meticulous yard work, which brought beauty to her home and neighborhood. Hettie's zest for life and her generous spirit were evident in everything she did.


Those who knew Hettie would describe her as interesting, generous, and passionate. She lived her life with a sense of purpose and a deep commitment to her family. She is survived by her loving son, Terry Lambert (Leslie), her adored granddaughter, Emily Statham (Enoch), and her three great-grandchildren, Ella, Arabella, and Abraham, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Hettie also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Hettie's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the joy of living life to the fullest. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye to Hettie Lambert, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she left on the world. Her spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by her family and the many lives she touched.


Hettie's life will be honored in a celebration of life, where her family and close friends will gather to share memories and celebrate the extraordinary person she was.
