Herbert Eugene Israel

Herbert Eugene Israel, 89 of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Saturday, February 24 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, SC.  He was born on March 8, 1934 in Startex, SC to Herbert and Louise Israel, who predeceased him in death. Herbert was married to Patsy Lunsford Israel for 61 years. His wife, Patsy, and his brother, Carroll, both predeceased Herbert in death. He is survived by his four children: Pam Buchanan (Charles), Phillip Israel, James Israel (Nora), and Jeff Israel (Lindsey). In addition, Herbert Israel is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Herbert served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1961.  He received the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.  He worked at Milliken Research for many years and he retired from Beverage Air.

Service will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC on March 13th at 1pm.  Chaplin Mike Linkins will conduct the service.
