Herbert Martin “Herbie” Bartlett was born May 13, 1937 in Brookville, PA. He was a wonderful, caring man with a great, big heart! Anyone who met him couldn’t help but love him. Herbie did many things in his life; he was a butcher for many years, had a technical degree in Electronics, worked as a Technician for 16 years at Sears in Eerie, PA, and retired from Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC after 27 years. He was an Army Veteran who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid gun collector and an award-winning Skeet & Trap Shooter. Herb had a passion for music too. He loved playing the harmonica & guitar, especially with Johnny and his friends out in the shop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip & Catherine; a sister, Donna; and infant brother, Kenneth. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Janette Goldsmith Bartlett; his children, Joyce (Jim), Cindy (Johnny), Cheri (Jim), Casey (Missy), and Richard (Karen); step-children, Cathy (Bobby), Pam (Dean), Sam (Donna), and Angela-Dedie (John); his dear sister, Nancy (Bill); 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and his 4-legged companions, Buddy & Booter. Herb would want to mention special thanks, especially during his lengthy illness, to Dean Dobsen & Johnny Moody for their friendship, care, and help. Plans are being made for a Memorial Service to be held at a future date.
