Salem, SC- Helen Kuthy, 81, passed away on Friday, September 4 of medical complications while in hospital and surrounded by immediate family.
Helen was a devoted wife to Arnold, her husband of 62 years, and loving mother to her children Michael (Mary) Kuthy, Virginia (Dan) Beurkens, William (Sandee) Kuthy. She was beloved by her grandchildren Tyler, Jessica, Aimee and Emalee, sister Ann Gonyer-New, brother-in-law Eugene (Tara) Kuthy, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was involved in various community endeavors including Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, Knights of Columbus fundraising and socials, Meals on Wheels, Alzheimers Association of South Carolina, Women’s Golf at Keowee Key and a variety of church functions.
She loved clothes and accessories and always looked good. She was an avid reader, loved to travel (including her home state of Michigan), loved all forms of competition including golf, cards, board games, word games and could be a fierce and determined competitor!
Helen will be missed for her engaging smile, kind heart, ability to make friends easily, and her strength and courage through many medical difficulties in recent years. Family and friends will miss her until they meet again in Heaven.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca on Saturday, September 26 at 11:00am.
