Helen Carter Jones, 72, of Simpsonville died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 20, 2020.
Helen Carter was born to the late Spurgeon and Edna Carter of Asheville, NC, March 18, 1948. She was survived by her only daughter Tiffany (Joe) DuPuy and her two grandsons, Miller and Boone. She was also survived by her siblings, Ron Carter (Mary Ellen), William Carter, Sue Gibson, Joyce Ammons, Jimmy Carter (Kathy), her sister-in-law Mary Jones, as well as, her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Russell L Jones of The Woodlands, Texas.
Helen was an avid gardener and took pride growing plants and flowers. Watching her grandkids play and providing her family with a homecooked meal, were among her favorite past times. In her early years, she worked for the school district and a property management group. In her spare time, she enjoyed going out to eat, going to the beach, listening to her old country favorites like Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson, and playing games with her family and friends.
Anyone who knew Helen, knew she had an infectious laugh, loved to listen, and winked fondly at those she cared for. She was kind and compassionate, and always made others feel welcomed. She was a kindred spirit to many and those who knew her well knew that she fought hard for the live she lived.
Helen’s faith in Jesus Christ provided her with an everlasting hope and joy. It is a joy that others saw in her and that set her apart. She will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Summit Church-Mauldin Campus on Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you cook a meal together with those you love and plant a tree or some flowers in honor of Helen.
