Helen Ballentine Jennings, 88, formally of 306 Edwards Rd and a recent resident of Waterstone on Augusta, died March 8, 2021.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph Jennings, sister Mary Blalock, and her treasured grandson Andrew Dobbins. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Lalon and Helen Virginia Wilson Bannister and the late Leroy Ballentine. She attended Greenville High School and was a loyal employee of Southern Weaving for close to forty years. Helen was a longstanding member of Earle Street Baptist Church, and she loved spending time with family and friends and was an adored grandmother (Mimi) to her six grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Curtis Dobbins (Anna) of Greenville, and Alan Dobbins (Robin) of Simpsonville; a brother Gene Ballentine and niece Chloe of Greenville; five granddaughters, Ashley Dobbins, Shannon Parrott (Donald), Caroline Dobbins, Katie Smith (Blaine), and Julia Dobbins; and two great-granddaughters, Elsie Mae and Shelby Grace Smith.
The family will hold a private ceremony, and the families will be at their respective homes.
