Helen Lee Brown, 85, of Williamston, SC, passed away on February 16, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery on White Horse Road on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2:00. The service will be officiated by her grandsons Chris Meaders and Michael Bragg with visitation afterwards. Helen, born Mary Helen Lee, was born November 14, 1931 in Fairforest, SC to Stanyarne and Mary Louise Lee. She attended Parker High School in Greenville, SC and married her high school sweetheart, Sanford Lee Brown on February 22, 1947; they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage Wednesday of this week. Nana, as the ones who held her dear called her, was a true matriarch to her family. She loved the Lord and was a living example, throughout her 85 years, that giving your life to Him daily produces great fruit. Because of her steadfast love of the Lord and her family, all who knew her and survive her rise up and call her blessed (Proverbs 31:28). Her influence can be and will be seen in generations to come. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Lee Brown, her parents, Stanyarne & Mary Louise Lee, her brother and sister-in-law, Stan & Harlee Lee and son-in-law, Walter Hal Meaders. She is survived by her daughters Patty Brown Gilbert and her husband Don, Janie Brown Meaders, Beth Brown Cunningham and her husband Ladson, her grandchildren, Wendy Gilbert Randolph (Carl Randolph), Tracey Gilbert Carnes (Chuck Carnes), Scott Gilbert (Ami Price Gilbert), Amiee Meaders Bragg (Michael Bragg), Chris Meaders (Jennifer Helton Meaders), Ashley Cunningham (Lisa Reid Cunningham), Andrew Cunningham (Shannon Tucker Cunningham), Cameron Cunningham, Annie Cunningham Albrecht (Alex Albrecht) and her great grandchildren, Gabriel Carnes, Malachi Carnes, Jonah Carnes, Logan Bragg, Connor Bragg, Addie Bragg, Hallie Meaders, Jackson Meaders, Piper Cunningham, Scout Cunningham and Kai Player, her brother Wilton Lee and his wife Sadie. Pallbearers will be Ladson Cunningham, Ashley Cunningham, Andrew Cunningham, Cameron Cunningham, Alex Albrecht, Chuck Carnes Honorary Pallbearers are Logan Bragg, Connor Bragg, Gabriel Carnes, Malachi Carnes, Jonah Carnes, Jackson Meaders Our family wishes to thank all those who have ministered to us during mom’s last few months making this time easier by their presence, prayers, calls and visits.
