On Monday, June 14th, 2021, Hazel Janette Masters of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away at 79 after a long battle with Lung Cancer. “Nana” was born April 23rd, 1942, in Winder, Georgia, to James Olin and Edna Pauline Miller. She was one sibling of 21 children, many of who have already passed. Nana’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger as she bonded quickly with others, always had a smile on her face, and made everyone feel at home in her company. She treated everyone as if they were one of her own and if you knew her, you probably called her your Nana, too.
Nana is survived by her daughter Fran Still of Greenville, SC; Son, William Bailey Masters of Atlanta, GA. A granddaughter, Mallory (Josh) Sorrells of Dacusville; and two great-grandsons who were the light of her life: Dawson and Maddox Sorrells. She is also survived by “adopted” daughter Cathy Harris of Greer.
She also leaves behind her four sisters: Lavern Wood; Carol Ann (Joe) Langley; Judy (John) Marsh and Peggy Rivers, all of Greenwood, SC. And countless, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Cremation Society of SC – Westville Funerals is handling arrangements. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
