Harriet W. Carver, aged 97, of Haywood Estates, 1180 Haywood Road, Greenville, SC, passed away May 29, 2018.
Born on January 18, 1921, in Boise, Idaho, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Winifred Westfall, long-time Boise residents.
Harriet Westfall was a 1939 graduate of Boise High School, and received an A.A. degree from Boise Junior College in 1941. She married Terrell O. Carver, also of Boise, on June 13, 1942. Her husband received his medical degree in 1945, and joined the U.S. Public Health Service. The family lived for a time in New Orleans, Louisiana, but moved back to Boise in 1949, where they lived until 1972, moving then to Greenville. Mrs Carver was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Greenville PEO. She was a qualified braille transcriber, delivered meals-on-wheels in the Greenville area, and was a valued volunteer at the amputee clinic, Shriners Hospitals for Children.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terrell F. and Judith D. Carver, of Bristol, England; a sister Helen L. Hodge, of Boise; three grandsons Nick J., Laurie M., and Roger A. Carver, all residing in England; and six great-grandchildren, Viggo A., Esther H., Sofia E., Alexandra X.E., Hector D., and Maximilian F.M., also residing in England. Another son Daniel M., of Greenville, predeceased her.
Entombment will be at Westminster Columbarium with a private remembrance.
