Hans Jaiden Thompson

Hans Jaiden Thompson, known to all as Jaiden, was the kind of guy who could light up a room with his smile and keep it bright with his laughter. Born on August 4, 2008, in the heart of Greenville, SC, he embraced life with the kind of enthusiasm that made you wonder if he had a secret stash of energy drinks hidden somewhere. Jaiden's journey came full circle when he passed away in the same vibrant city on April 12, 2025.

Jaiden was the beloved ringleader of his family, which included his mom, Jenni Thompson, his dad, Shane Carver, his adoring sissy, Shana Carver, his doting grandmother, Heather Hollinsworth, and his grandfather, Michael Howard. His loving great grandmother Joyce Carver who predeceased Jaiden. He was also the cherished grandson of the late Angela Carver and Hans Thompson, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms and the best seat in the house. Jaiden had a lot of best friends but he was the only best friend to a lot of people.

A courageous soul, Jaiden never met a dirt bike jump he didn't like or a video game challenge he wouldn't take on, especially if it meant spending time with Shana, his partner in crime and digital domination. His generosity knew no bounds, whether he was sharing his latest gaming tips or the last slice of pizza, which, let's be honest, is the truest test of a generous heart.

Jaiden's love for hanging out with friends was legendary. He was the kind of friend who remembered your dog's birthday and would help you search for your car keys, even if it turned out they were in your hand the whole time. His laughter was infectious, his courage was inspiring, and his love was as generous as his gaming avatar's inventory.

In a world that often takes itself too seriously, Jaiden was a breath of fresh air. He reminded us that life is a game best played with joy, laughter, and a willingness to hit the restart button with a smile. So here's to Jaiden, the boy who played life on the hardest difficulty and won our hearts in the process. Game over? No way. He's just moved on to the next level.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th, 2025 at 5 PM and a memorial will follow at 6 PM at the Cremation Society of South Carolina Westville Funeral.
