Gwen Mulkey

Gwen Mulkey, 45 of Liberty, received the ultimate Christmas gift when she went home to Heaven on Christmas day, December 25, 2015 after an 11 month battle with cancer.  Gwen was surrounded by her family and friends at her home.

Gwen was born in Pickens County to Bernice Ree McJunkins Hart of Greenville and Tommy Denney of Central.

Surviving in addition to her mother Bernice Ree Hart and stepdad Charley are her husband, Royce of the home, her children, Cameron, Maddison and Morgan of the home, and Brittany Stockton, her son-in-law  Justin, and her grandbabies, Addison and Jace of Liberty, her many aunts, uncles and cousins and her Aunt Joyce McJunkins of Pickens.

Gwen was an amazing wife and mother to her husband and children and the very best Grammy to her precious grandbabies. Gwen was also many kids second mama, as her house was usually filled with others children and her nieces and nephews.   Gwen was known as Mama Mulkey to many students and staff at Grove Elementary in Greenville.  Many may have even known Gwen as an original customer of Under The Carolina Moon.

Gwen was predeceased by her two sisters, Lynn and Renee Denney and her dad Tommy and many other family members.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 31 at 1 o’clock at Rice’s Creek Baptist Church in Liberty SC, with a memorial service to follow at 2 o’clock at the church.

The families will be at their respective homes.
