Gregory Scott Bratcher, 59, of Marietta, passed into his heavenly home on October 24, 2023.
Born on November 10, 1964, in Greenville, SC, Scott was one of three children born to Julius
(JR) Bratcher and the late Linda Bratcher. He was preceded in death by his son Jason, and his
sister, Sherry.
Scott is survived by the love of his life, Lynn Pruitt Bratcher. Also surviving are his stepmother
Carol Bratcher, mother-in-law Carole Pruitt, sister Stephanie Murray, niece Jessica Wicker
(Jeremiah), daughter Krystle Tillman and grandchildren Kayleigh, Jaylin, and Landon, and
daughter Blaire Bunn (David).
Scott graduated from Travelers Rest High school and was previously employed at the Cline
Company. His joy for life was expressed by his contagious smile and uncanny wit. He was
gentle, kind and loving. An engaging listener and a thoughtful conversationalist, Scott was loved
by everyone who met him.
Scott loved 1980’s music, 1980’s big hair, pickles and anything camo printed. He especially
enjoyed being outside, relaxing and reading in the sunlight. But most of all, Scott loved his
family and Scott loved Lynn, his wife of 20 years.
He was selfless and always grateful. He was a fighter until the very end. Although our hearts are
broken, we rejoice in knowing that his body, once paralyzed for 23 years, now dances on the
streets of heaven. For we are assured that Scott arrived in his heavenly home with Jesus,
completely healed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 2pm at Praise Cathedral
Prayer Chapel on Brushy Creek Road in Greer.
