Gloria Anderson Brooks, 84, died at home in Greenville, S.C., January 23, 2016, from natural causes.
She was born in Wheeler County Georgia, and was the daughter of Charlie and Etta Mae Anderson.
She is survived by her Georgia Southern University sweetheart and husband, Alter E. Brooks, daughter Sonya Brooks, daughter-in-law Sandy Brooks, Granddaughters Lauren B. Ritchie [Rob], Lindsey B. Bell,[Ryan] and Great grandson, Brooks A. Bell. She was proceeded in death by her son, Alter Anthony Brooks.
Gloria was a retired teacher from Greenville County, and taught for many years at East North Street School.
She was an active and faithful member of Edwards Road Baptist Church for 50 years.
Memorial services will be held at Edwards Road Baptist Church on January 26, 2016 at 1:00pm. The family will receive at the church from 12:00 to 1:00pm. At a later date, burial will be private at a family plot at Ivey Baptist Church, Ivey, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Good News Club or Lottie Moon Offering at Edwards Road Baptist Church.
