Gladys Wood McElrath

Mrs. Gladys Wood-McElrath, daughter of the late David and Eva Wood, was born in Greenville County South Carolina on February 23, 1933.
She departed this life at 83 on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in downtown Greenville, SC. She was a long time member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, Dublin Road, Greenville SC where she was a faithful servant.
Gladys was married to the late Alexander "Alex" McElrath, Sr. Of that union three loving children were born, 1-daughter JoAnn McElrath-Chandler (Michael), 2-sons, Alexander McElrath, Jr., and Charles Edward McElrath (Brenda). Gladys was blessed with 6 grandchildren-Tabitha McElrath (Quorius Ashmore), Cicely McElrath, Kevin McElrath, Demond Chandler (Hicunni), Charles Drummond, Sadé McElrath and 6 great grandchildren- Nastasha McElrath, Jaquorius Ashmore, Makaela McElrath, A’mya McElrath, Jayden Chandler, and Elijah Chandler.
She also leaves to mourn her passing 1-aunt, Mamie Wood-Bibbs, four brothers, Edward Wood, Ernest Wood, (Vangy) Leonard Clyde "LC". Wood (Phyllis), all of Greenville and David Wood, Jr., (Barbara) of Conyers, Georgia. One sister, Sylvia Wood-Fowler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong family/friends - The Smith Family.
She is preceded in death by two brothers Leroy Wood, Sr., (Barbara) and Raymond Barr of Utica, NY - one sister, Flora Wood-Foster (Booker T. Foster) of Taylors.
