Ginger Elizabeth Hunter Thomas, 80, of 112 Merri Lane, Easley, SC, died Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Durham, NC, she is the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Hunter. She retired with the Greenville Hospital System as a nurse in the trauma center. She proudly opened Exigent Medical Center, Greenville, SC, for her friends, Dr. Jim Alexander and Dr. Don Gregg. She also practiced as a nurse practitioner and P.A. She and her husband of 45 years also owned Big Scoop Ice Cream Parlor in Taylors. She was a devoted wife and friend to all that knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Bernard L. "Doc" Thomas, a daughter Brandy Nicole Thomas and a brother John Pickney "Jay" Hunter. Surviving are four children, Forest H. Thomas (Mary) of Powdersville, SC, Lee Thomas (Frances), Ruffin, SC, Keith Blane Thomas, Taylors, SC, Stormy Thomas, Taylors, SC; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, Earl "Pepper" Hunter, Columbia, SC.
As she was a faithful Jehovah's Witness, a Memorial Service will be held by ZOOM on Sunday, November 1 at 4pm. Call or text 864-406-9043 to pre-register.
