Gerald “Jerry“ Milbourne, 63, of Youngsville, NC, died Thursday night, Dec. 10, 2020, in his home.
Jerry was a follower of Jesus, dedicated Husband, Father and Poppop. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force for 34 years, which took him all over the world and put him in the top 1% of the enlisted USAF as an E9, Chief Master Sergeant. Throughout his career and retirement he volunteered his time with Gideons International, in detox centers and county jails, sharing his faith and passion for God’s Word. He loved his wife, family, and dog Fred dearly.
Gerald was a son of the late Frank and Jane Milbourne. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Milbourne, Frank Milbourne, and Nancy Dixon.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathie Milbourne; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Cassie Milbourne, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; daughters and son-in-law, Beth Milbourne of Greenville, SC; Sarah and Jonny Peters of Youngsville, NC; sisters and brother-in-law, Sharen John of Newark, DE, Gwen and Paul Clayton of Chesapeake City, MD; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Tammy Milbourne of Pearland, TX; sister-in-law, Bernie Milbourne of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Kylie, Jenna, Joshua, Jr., Hayden, Jada, Karis, Jordan, Simon, Corbin and Cailin; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Faith Baptist Church, Taylors, SC on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020; with visitation from 1 - 2 PM, and the funeral at 2 PM. Due to the rise in COVID numbers in Greenville, we strongly encourage everyone to wear masks to the visitation and services. Burial will be in the New Year at the MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC on Jan. 7, 2021 at 3 PM.
