Gerald W Lenz

Gerald, aged 96, passed away peacefully in his home on September 4th, 2023.
A native of New Castle Pennsylvania, he was born December 8, 1926, the son of Herman and Elanor Lenz.

He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Alice (Allie) Reynolds and is survived by his sister Ruth McCracken of New Wilmington Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry grew up on a farm, and proudly graduated in engineering from Penn State University. He was employed in the US and around the world by AMOCO Chemical Corporation of Chicago, Ill. His field was in the engineering of instrumentation and control systems for petrochemical plants.

Following early retirement Allie and Jerry settled in Mauldin, SC and lived there for over 30 years. He was a world traveler, lifelong Rotarian, and supported local arts and charitable organizations especially the Alice and Jerry Lenz Art Gallery at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville SC.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church Greenville SC at 11:00 AM on September 21, 2023. Dr. Shelton Sanford will officiate, with a visitation following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent the First Presbyterian Church Arts Endowment or to Miracle Hill Industries, both of Greenville, SC.
