George Franklin Kartikis, 82, of Simpsonville SC, passed away 8•2•2023 in Greenville SC with Lisa, his best friend and wife of thirty nine years, at his side. He was predeceased by his parents Savvas and Mildred Kartikis and his eldest daughter. He is survived by his wife Lisa Kartikis, two daughters, brother Robert Kartikis, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many cousins. Born in Rahway NJ, he resided in Winfield Park NJ and Toms River NJ before moving to Mint Hill NC. George recently relocated to Simpsonville SC with his wife to live with his selfless and loving caretakers, daughter Kaci Millis and son-in-law Scott Millis.
George proudly served in the U.S. Army as an 82nd Airborne Ranger. During his time in Toms River, he owned and operated two businesses: Stewart’s Drive-In and Eagle Plastics & Signs. He retired from Klingman Williams in Charlotte NC.
George enjoyed spending time with family and watching sports. He was an avid reader with a great appreciation for World War II history. George owned miniature schnauzers throughout his life, most recently enjoying the companionship of “the pups” Lucy and Ethel.
The family is abiding by George’s request not to have any services.
