George Allen Clement, 83, beloved husband of Nancy Holden Clement, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023.
Born in Denver, Co., and raised in Napa, Ca. and Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Louis Horton Clement and June Alice Clement. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School with a National Certificate of Merit and from the University of Tampa with a degree in mathematics. He went to work for Honeywell International Inc. in St. Petersburg in the Gemini space program. After several years he cofounded a land development company, served as President of the Clearwater Board of Realtors and spent the rest of his working days in the Florida commercial real estate business. He loved to ski, sail travel, and run taking part in many 10K and half marathons in Florida. He was a private pilot, and loved flying with family and friends and all over the east coast in his Cessna 190. He and Nancy retired to Kenmure in Flat Rock, N.C. in 1998 and then to the Cascades in Greenville, S.C. in 2017.
George was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Louis Clement.
In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy, he is survived by a son Joshua Spencer Clement (Kari) of Seattle, Wa., a brother, John Porter Clement (Jean), of Elbert, Co., and a sister, Suzanne June Clement, of Colorado Springs, Co.
A family memorial service will be held a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
