George Edward Buchanan

George Edward Buchanan (88) widow of Katherine Center Buchanan of 61 years went to be with the Lord on July 26,2021.
George was born in Greenville to Jesse R. Buchanan and Ollie Benfield Buchanan. He lived in the Brandon Community his entire life and was a member of Brandon Baptist Church. He retired from Hoechst Celanese where he was a mechanic. George was an avid fisherman and golfer. He loved spending time with his family, working in his garden, and watching western shows. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and special neighbors ( Ann, Barbara, and Dennis.)

Surviving are daughters Mrs, Sharon Buchanan Hembree (William) of Travelers Rest and Mrs. Susan Buchanan Gravely (Randy) of Easley. Grandchildren : Kristen Beigay (Anthony), Jeff Massie ( Crista), Andy Gravely ( Liz), and Stephen Gravely (Kassi), .
Great Grandchildren: Caleb Beigay, Wynter Beigay, Nathan Massie, Payton Massie, Landon Massie, Kaci Czarnick, Andrea Gravely, Andrew Gravely, Kendal Gravely, Phoebe Gravely, Kamryn Gravely, A Jay Kirkpatrick, Makayla and Jackson Trivette. Great-great Grandchildren: Jasper and Maverick Czarnick.

Predeceased by sisters Elizabeth Bagwell, Obera Bright, and brother John L, Buchanan.

A celebration of George's Life will be on Friday, July 30,2021 . Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 at Westville Funeral Home and a Graveside service at 12:00 at Graceland Cemetery West.
