Gene Galen Soult
Gray Court, SC

Gene Galen Soult (68) is the son of Wayne Arthur Soult and Thelma Irene DeWalt Soult. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Rumsey Soult, his daughters, Rebecca Soult Burnett (her husband Todd Mathew Burnett) and Elizabeth Soult Bennett (her husband Michael Logan Bennett), his three grandchildren, Lea Catherine Bennett, Brownlee Kate Burnett, and Connally James Burnett, his brother Wayne A. Soult, Jr. (his wife Joyce Soult), his sister Kathy Peil (her husband Raymond Peil). He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Joyce Elaine Slaughbaugh, Joan Carmella Soult Turner, and his brother James Edward Soult.

“A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his path.” - Proverbs 16:9. Gene made it his daily obligation to desire and seek every step God laid before him. Gene was a man of prayer, committing his life to serving Christ. Gene was a man of devotion: to God, to his wife, to his family, and to all who had the opportunity to encounter him. Every life is worth investing in because all life is intricately designed by God. Ultimately, Gene was a man of accomplishment. He served in the Navy during Vietnam. He was an MBA and an engineer. Gene built power plants, houses, and churches. He started businesses and invested in the lives around him regularly. He served as a Gideon, a Sunday school teacher, a deacon, an evangelist, and served in the church sacrificially. His greatest accomplishment was reflecting the glory of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in every aspect of his life.

Since a private memorial service was held due to Covid-19 rules, Vicky would appreciate it if you would write a letter to her telling her where you met Gene and how he has influenced your life and/or your favorite memory of him. She wants to collect these letters to make a scrapbook for the grandchildren so they can know their grandfather better. Please mail letters to P.O. Box 672 Gray Court, SC 29645 or email Vicky at vrsoult@yahoo.com vrsoult@yahoo.com>.

In lieu of flowers, Vicky asks that memorial donations be made to Finish It Ministries ( for the Coleman Family) at Friendship Baptist Church (3436 Friendship Church Road, Gray Court, SC 29645).

Thank you again for your prayers and support, and we look forward to receiving your letters/emails.
