Frances Gunter Sewell, better known as, Nanny Punk, 78, of Easley, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Easley, South Carolina, August 31, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Nellie McGaha Gunter.
She was a member of Calvary First Baptist Church, where she was active in the Dorcas Sunday School class. In recent years she rededicated her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved sister Anne and playing with her great-granddaughters. She was retired from Bibb Manufacturing Company after 30+ years.
She is survived by her sister Anne Gunter; sons Jim Sewell (Cindy), Ray Sewell, and Roy Sewell; grandchildren Jennifer Harvey (Brandon), Chris Sewell, Kayla Dockins (Andrew), Matt Sewell (Emilee); and great-granddaughters Alexis “Lexi”, Kylie, and Paislee.
Also surviving are a special niece and nephew, Joyce Pruitt and Johnny Carter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son Jerry Scott Sewell; her brothers Bill and Dewey Gunter; and sisters Helen Sanders, Bertha Hester, Faye Floyd.
The family will be at their respective residences. As per her wishes, no visitation will be held. Graveside Services only will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley with the Pastor Roger K. Plemmons officiating.
Memorials may be made in honor of her beloved sister, Anne Gunter, to The American Cancer Society or to Meals on Wheels.
