Frances Charlene McGrew, a beloved mother, sister, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023, in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. Born on November 24, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, Frances lived a life marked by love, thoughtfulness, and a tireless entrepreneurial spirit.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Earl McGrew, son Bobby Hudson, and fourteen cherished brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sons, Will McGrew and Billy Hudson; two daughters, Barbara Diane Hudson and Brenda Jean Hudson Bullock; a brother, Anthony "Eddie" Miles; and a sister, Lilly Mae Mann. Her family was the cornerstone of her life and she cherished the time spent with them. She was "one tough mother."
Frances was a woman of many talents and interests. She was the proud owner of Star Makers Karaoke, Red Line Lounge, BJ's Bar, and a Rainbow Vacuum Distributor. Her entrepreneurial spirit was evident in her successful business ventures, which also included Cone Mill, Woodside Mill, and Poe Mill. Frances is known for her hard work, dedication, and the joy she brought to others through her businesses.
Beyond her professional life, Frances had a passion for fishing and poker, hobbies that brought her immense joy and relaxation. She was also an incredible cook.
Frances' life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and determination. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable life.
Frances Charlene McGrew was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Her life was a beautiful journey, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As we say goodbye, we celebrate her life.
