Born on 6/18/1919 to the late Harry S. and Grace German, Frances Lucille German Harvell went to her heavenly home on 4/11/15.
Though born and raised as a child in Northville, MI, the family later moved to Carleton, MI, where Frances spent most of her life.
She graduated co-valedictorian of her class at Carleton HS in 1937. For several years during the late 1950s into the early 1960s she served as Village Clerk of Carleton. In 1986 she retired from Ford Motor Co. as an executive secretary.
Frances was a member of the Carleton United Methodist Church. When she moved to SC to live with her daughters, she transferred her membership to Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by sons: Geri (Cathy) of LaBelle, FL; Dahl of Monroe, MI; daughters: Jann and Gaye of Taylors, SC; five grandchildren: Bob Harvell of Carleton, MI; Cheryl Mignano of Sylvania, OH; Therese Burchel (Jim) of New Boston, MI; Nanette (Rod) McAninch of Somerset, KY; and Natasha Smith of Firestone, CO; seven great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law Loyal and Helen German, Harry and Bernice German and by her dear friend Louise Carter.
The family would like to thank the following people for their care and caring of their mother: the staff at Greenville Glen Assisted Living, Dr. Fields, Dr. Graddick, Dr. Stack, Dr. Coleman, Dr. Collins, Amedisys Hospice (in particular, Kelly, Tanya and Chaplain Roy Williams).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 2 pm at Francis Asbury UMC (on E. North St.).
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Francis Asbury UMC or to the Humane Society of Greenville.
