Floyd Otis Roach, 82, of Liberty, South Carolina, went home to be with Jesus and his loved ones gone before him on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his home. Born on June 11, 1936 in Oconee County, South Carolina to his parents, Mitchell Caleb and Ressie May Seigle Roach, Floyd worked as a Weaving Technician in the Textile Industry and he retired from Precision Fabrics in Vinton, Virginia. Floyd was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. He was also a Nascar fan and he loved his Lord Jesus. Floyd will be remembered by those close to him for his easy going personality and his sense of humor.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; his late wife, Mary McFalls; his brother, David Roach and his sisters, Dorothy Roach and Lois McAdams. Those who will most cherish Floyd’s memory are his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Margaret S. Roach of Liberty, South Carolina; his son, Danny Roach and wife, Becky of Fincastle, Virginia; his stepson, Kevin Stafford of Cheraw, South Carolina; his stepdaughter, Leslie Moore and her husband, Sidney of Bennettsville, South Carolina; two granddaughters, one great granddaughter; five step grandchildren; a special brother in law, David McFalls of Hollins, Virginia; his six sisters, Ann Donald of Anderson, South Carolina, Rose Petty, Leola Wright and Shirley Roach all of Greenville, South Carolina, Elaine Hall of Travelers Rest, South Carolina and Vera Hester of Dacusville, South Carolina.
A gathering of Floyd's family and friends for a time of reflection and sharing will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Grace Baptist Church, 930 North Old Pendleton Road, Liberty, SC 29657. A memorial service to honor Floyd's life will be at 3:00 P.M. at the church with Reverend Jeffrey Kelly, officiating.
