Flavious Earl Curry

Flavious Earl Curry (90) entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He was born in Galesburg, Illinois on February 8,1933 to Nelle Elizabeth (Oatman) Curry Louthan and Flavious Cecil Curry. Sometime after his father's death, he was blessed with a wonderful step-dad, Roy Albert Louthan. He graduated from Galesburg Senior High School in 1951 and married his high school sweetheart, Wilma Jane Hyman, on July 4, 1951. He was a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Galesburg and was a supervisor at Citywide Rubish Removal before moving to S.C. in 1974. Most recently, he was a manager at Compac Self Storage before moving into Southpointe Healthcare, where his widow still resides. He was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Donald Curry and a sister, Margery (Curry) Bowman.

In addition to his wife of nearly 72 years, he is survived by a brother, Douglas Curry (Donna) of Monmouth, IL and 3 sisters: Elaine (Louthan) Rogers (Charles) of Great Falls, MT, Joyce (Louthan) Brunson (Joe) of Loco, OK, and Debi (Louthan) Dreyer (Conrad) of Marshall, WI.; a son, Michael Curry and 2 daughters: Jacqueline (Curry) Riddle (Keith) and Rebecca (Curry) Coley (Jim) all of Greenville; 8 grandchildren: Erin (Riddle) Mason Eubanks, Mandy, Jason and Devin Riddle; Kelly and Scott Curry; Jeremy Jones and Shawn Coley. 16 great grandchildren: Brent and Megan Mason, Zachary Eubanks, Kaitlyn and Kelcie Riddle, Alyssa, Shaina and Haleigh Gunter, Scarlett and Iris Curry, Elijah and Avaleah Jones, Casey and Nicholas Coley and Noah and Kiana Riddle. 6 great great grandchildren: Arion, Kynsleigh and Andrez Mason, Aiden Mata, Elijah McElrath and Rosalie Collins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
