Eva Atkinson Ray passed away on October 29, 2018, in Greenville, South Carolina. Eva was a true “Mother in Israel,” and was beloved by her many friends, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was born in Denton, Georgia, on September 26, 1920. She and Silas Ray were married in 1937, and lived in south Georgia before moving to South Carolina, where they lived in Rock Hill, Florence, and Greenville. She was predeceased by her husband Silas, by a young daughter, Janice, and by her son, Charles. She is survived by two daughters, Norma Hussey (Ronald) of Marianna, FL, and Evie Hatchette of Anderson, SC; grandchildren: Julie Wright (Allen), Sonya Wicker (Roy), Allan Williams (Rhonda), Pamela Munn, Charles L. Ray (Angie), Christa Jordan (Mike Mopps), Gayle Holbrooks (Eric), and Lindsay Hawkins (Brent); fourteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Westville Funeral Home, 6010 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC, at 2:45PM on Friday, November 2, preceded by a visitation from 1:00 – 2:30. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Greenville, SC.
