Eric Steven McMillan

Eric Steven McMillan, 36, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2022. Eric was a native of Greer, South Carolina, he lived in and around the area for almost his life. For those that knew Eric, they would quickly recognize that he was a proud University of South Carolina Gamecock fan and on Sunday he would be somewhere cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers. When it came time for baseball season, Eric would find a spot and watch his Atlanta Braves. The World Series Championship that Atlanta won certainly gave great delight to Eric as a longtime fan. As one would appreciate, Eric enjoyed listening to music, and of his absolute favorites was music by Chris Cornell.

Eric was loved by his family and the many close friends he had. He was a generous person who didn't hesitate to do a favor or kind act without asking for anything in return. He was the type of person that would give to others and he would do without rather than ignoring a friend in need.

Eric had goals in life and always wanted to find love and dreamed of starting a family with his "one and only". His life was tragically cut short and these dreams will go unseen but he leaves a legacy with his family, friends, and community of unselfishness and love.

Eric had an appreciation for art, and he especially appreciated the painting, “starry night.”

The family holds many fond memories of Eric, but he shared a special bond with his cousin Lindsay. Their love for animals and endless togetherness as kids kept them always busy and, in the woods, playing or on a trip somewhere. They also attempted to bungee jump off the top bunk as kids with dog harnesses and leashes attached to the metal rail. yeah, it broke, but the memories carry forward today. They spent many days summer days at the creek, and those days are engrained with Lindsay and the family forever.

Eric’s mother, Mary Jean McMillan passed last year.

Eric is survived by his dad, Steven McMillan, stepmom Lisa McMillan, and 18-month-old brother Chance Steven Carter-McMillan. Uncle, Brian McMillan, and his wife, (Thao), his aunt, Elizabeth McMillan, his cousin Lindsay McMillan, many additional cousins, and countless friends

Eric will be remembered as someone who gave all that he had to give!
