Emily Ann Bartley, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Piedmont, South Carolina. Born on November 7, 1956, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Emily's life was a testament to selflessness and dedication, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Emily's early years in Vincennes laid the foundation for a life of service and commitment. Her journey led her to an honorable tenure with the United States Marine Corps, where she served her country with distinction, not only as a Marine but also as a courageous ambulance driver. After her military service, Emily transitioned into a successful career as a computer programmer, where she continued to demonstrate her remarkable work ethic and attention to detail.

Family was the cornerstone of Emily's world. She was a loving partner to her late spouse, Terry D. Robbins, and a nurturing mother to her daughter, Moriah Johnson. Her family circle expanded with the joyous additions of her son-in-law, Kevin Johnson, and her cherished grandchildren, Kalin Frazier, Adriana Frazier, Kelsey Hoffman (Buck Hoffman), and Kolby Johnson. Emily's parents, Marilyn Smith and the late Orison "John" Smith, instilled in her the values of love and family that she carried throughout her life. She was a supportive sibling to her brothers Marty Smith, Jerry Smith, and Jason Smith, and her sisters Bobbi Alvis and the late Teri Smith, along with their respective spouses, Pam Smith, Denise Smith, Kathy Smith, and Brett Alvis. Her numerous nieces and nephews also held a special place in her heart.

Emily's interests and hobbies were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. She found joy in painting, capturing the beauty of life on canvas with every stroke. Her competitive spirit shone through during lively games of bingo and cards, and she relished the experience of live music at concerts. A simple evening spent watching television was another source of contentment for Emily, as it often brought her family and friends together.

Those who knew Emily would describe her as the epitome of loving, generous, and selfless. Her unwavering support and boundless kindness were the hallmarks of her character. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved, creating a legacy of warmth and compassion that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Emily's life was a melody of devotion and joy, a song that will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her symphony. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated, a reminder of the profound impact one life can have on so many.

As we bid farewell to Emily Ann Bartley, we hold close the memories and the love she shared. Her spirit, a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends, will never be extinguished.
