Elsie Othel Alexander, age 78, was promoted to her Heavenly mansion on July 21, 2021. On this Earth, she was passionate about God, her family and music. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing to everyone--especially songs she made up for each of her children and grandchildren.
Elsie never met a stranger and was a true prayer warrior who touched many lives through the years. She loved dancing and teaching her great-grandchildren to shag and two-step, even if they didn’t want to learn. Elsie also loved to cook and she loved to eat. Her grandchildren fondly remember her telling them, “You’ll like it, you’ll love it, and you’ll eat it!” at mealtime.
Elsie had four children and is survived by three, Dorothy Villalba (Carlos), Rick Pottberg (Susan), and Betty Beacham. Her youngest daughter, Michelle, greeted her at the pearly gates. She had 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is survived by four of her siblings, her twin sister, Janie Witherspoon, Lavada Mullinax, Lousie Barbrey, and Harold Mullinax. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, Sara Hudson, Patricia Carter, Myrtle Holloway, Elmer Mullinax, Earl Mullinax; and her parents, Ken and Gladys Mullinax.
Elsie touched many lives and though we celebrate her promotion to Heaven, our Mama, Nanny, sister and friend will truly be missed.
Join us for her life celebration this Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM, at Cremation Society of SC-Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
