Elliott Ford Gilstrap, known for his spirited stubbornness and his love for family, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on September 6, 1989, in Greenville, SC, Elliott was the beloved son of Dianne Gilstrap and the late Larry Gilstrap Sr. He grew up in a lively household with his siblings Tyler Gilstrap, Kalani Hayman, and Danny Royals. His older siblings Debra Vaughn, Luann East, Larry Gilstrap Jr., and the late Toni Gilstrap were also part of his life growing up. His life was further enriched by the love of his fiancée, Tammy Womack, and his stepdaughters, Claudia and Jessica Timms, and Claudia's two children, Kameron and Vaylen, who lovingly called him Paw Paw.
Elliott dedicated many years to construction work, where he was known for his friendly, happy personality and his ability to lift up others and put a smile on their faces with his infectious laughter and outlook on Life. He was not only a skilled worker but also of community spirit, actively participating in the Blue Ridge Youth Association, where he contributed his time and energy to support local youth.
Elliott loved to watch his chosen son, Kameron, practice and play football. These moments were among the most precious to him, as they combined his love for sports with his deep commitment to family and mentorship.
Elliott was a true sports enthusiast, he reveled in the excitement of Tennessee football and Duke basketball, and his love for all sports was evident to anyone who knew him. His passion for life was evident anytime he participated in Karaoke or found a dance floor.
Elliott's love for his mother was unparalleled. He was a devoted son who brought light and love into his mother's life, and his absence will be deeply felt by her and all who were fortunate enough to experience his loving nature.
Those who knew Elliott would describe him as a loving, courageous, and spirited individual. His ability to face life's challenges with a smile and encourage others to do the same was a rare gift that made him a beacon of hope in his community.
As we bid farewell to Elliott Ford Gilstrap, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His memory will continue to inspire those he left behind, and the echoes of his laughter will remain a comforting presence. Elliott's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the impact of his love and the memories he created will endure forever in the hearts of his loved ones.
