Doris Elizabeth Sheridan Moyd Rambo
June 12, 1932 – April 25, 2020
Doris Elizabeth Sheridan Moyd Rambo, 87 of Greenville SC, was called home to the Lord on 4/25/2020. She was born to parents Lona Mell and James Liston Sheridan on 06/12/1932 in Greenwood, SC.
She graduated in Math Education from Lander College and received her SC teacher certificate.
Elizabeth worked as a math/computer educator for a combination of fifteen years while stationed with Jack Moyd Senior in El Paso, Texas and in Greenville SC at Berea High School from which she retired. She also served as the bookkeeper of Beauty Guard Manufacturing in Greenville SC for over twenty years. While in college, she helped her parents with the print shop of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home. From this experience, “Beth” acquired an everyday penmanship which was deemed most extraordinarily exquisite. She also worked as a private accountant for several locations such as: Po Folks restaurant and a local law firm.
She enjoyed creative artistry via drawing and painting, designing and sewing, crocheting, leather tooling, and dancing. “Beth” enjoyed camping, boating, skiing, and fishing with Jack and their three boys on Lake Greenwood often. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the world and even visited the “O’Sheridan” castle in Ireland. “Grammie-Beth” of course loved spending time with her grand and great-grand-children and teaching them to always find the funny in life.
Elizabeth met Warren Rambo several years following the sudden death of Jack Moyd Senior. They were married at Pretty Place on Cedar Mountain and then lived in Greenville SC. As a couple, they were active members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Elizabeth is survived by Warren Rambo her beloved spouse, Jackson Thompkins Moyd II with his children and grandchildren: Rebecca Moyd and family and Lauren Elizabeth Moyd with Leighton Dale Moyd, Blythe Kinard Moyd, Eloise Brighton Moyd of Laurens SC; David Randle Moyd and wife Karen Lynn Batson Moyd with their children: Olivia Drew Moyd and Drake Eugene-Jackson Moyd of Greenville SC and Kelly Knotts Moyd (widow of Steven Phillip Moyd) with twins Jonathan Ross Moyd and Sheridan Grace Moyd of Summerville SC.
She was preceded in death by Jackson Thompkins Moyd Senior, spouse of twenty-seven years and Steven Phillip Moyd, her third born son of thirty-eight years.
The family has entrusted Cremation Society if South Carolina - Westville Funerals with the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to Warren Rambo and/or the children at 102 Estanolle Street Greenville SC 29615. Donations to Aldersgate United Methodist church are welcomed. A celebration of Beth's Life will be delayed due to current Covid -19 difficulties.
