Eleanor Boroughs, 88, died November 20, 2020. The daughter of William F. and Willie Delk Armstrong, she was a lifelong resident of Greenville.
She is survived by her two sons, The Rev. Cal Boroughs III (Susan) of Chattanooga and Don F. Boroughs (Lynda) of Greer; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her brother Allen Armstrong (Randoph) of Greenville, and her sisters, Toni Pardue (Ralph) of Heath Springs, Dianne White of Greenville, and Suzanne Owens of Colombia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, Thad C. Boroughs, Jr., and a niece.
She was a dietitian at Wade Hampton High School, cake decorator, bookkeeper at Service Repair Company where Thad was manager, and sales person at Rack Room Shoes.
She was a charter member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church PCA. She was active in her church, serving as past president of Women In the Church, leading a Pioneer Girls club, and being involved in other ministries at the church. She loved hosting missionaries in her home when they came to missions conferences at the church.
Her memorial service will be Tuesday, December 1 at 12:00 at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, 207 Mitchell Road, Greenville.
