Edward Martin " Eddie " Porter

Edward Martin " Eddie " Porter departed this life on May 14, 2017 at the home of his cousin Kathy Wynn with his wife and children at his side. Eddie was born and reared in the Berea community of Greenville County. He was a graduate of Berea High School and was employed at Greenville Tech until his recent retirement. He is survived by his wife, Tammie Laws Porter, of thirty eight years. Also surviving are two sons, Nick (Ashley) and Joshua and daughter Shay (David). Surviving grandchildren are Leni, Wyatt, Mya and Sophie. Eddie was the son of the late Jack and Joyce Martin Porter. Surviving brothers are Kirk (Gail) and Steve Porter. Services for Mr. Porter will be at Berea First Baptist Church (Chapel), of which he was a long time member. This will be on Thursday May 18 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be at the Reverend Doctor Chad Rickenbaker and the Reverend Roy Cantrell. Memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church at 529 Farr’s Bridge road Greenville, S.C. 29611. Condolences may be sent to the Porter Residence at 108 Gibson Drive Greenville, S.C. 29617.
