Edward Charles Ferguson, Jr., 70, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Greenville. Born on May 19, 1948 in Greenville, South Carolina to his parents, Edward Charles Ferguson, Sr. and Mattie Ruth (Shirley) Ferguson, he was a lifelong resident of the upstate, he served his country honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era for 10 years where he received a Purple Heart. He worked with and retired from the United States Postal Service as a Mail Processor was known affectionately known among his family and friends as Ed, Wewop and Eddie. Edward will be missed and loved dearly by his family and friends for whom he cared about and loved so much.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Danny Ferguson and his sisters, Betty King and Sharon Williams. Those who will most cherish his memory are his wife, Tammy R. Christian; his daughter, Amanda Henson; his sons, Steven Ferguson, Christopher Ferguson and Jonathan Roddy; his sister, Joan Duvall; his brother, Randy Ferguson; his sister, Tammy Haworth and his grandchildren, Makenzie Ferguson, Madison Lister and Mayson Henson. Edward’s family wishes to extend the greatest of gratitude to Dr. Jorgenson of the Carolina Cardiology Group and to the Lord God for giving us the last five years with Edward !
A gathering time for the family and friends of Edward will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Family Residence, 10 Champlain Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29611. Military honors for Edward will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the family residence as well.
