Edith Winifred Culclasure joined Her Family in Heaven on April 12, 2017. Wink as She was known by all, was born on October 7, 1924 in Newberry, South Carolina. She was the Daughter of George Coleman Ammons and Janie Victoria Padgett Ammons. She was married to her childhood sweetheart and love of her life Frank Edward Culclasure for 53yrs.
Wink spent much of her early childhood in Charlotte, NC. After returning to South Carolina she was educated in the Newberry County Schools and graduated from Newberry College with a degree in Business. She was employed with the City of Newberry Utilities Department for 30 yrs. and was the first female to be elected to Newberry City Council.
Wink loved living. She enjoyed her life at Lake Murray, loved traveling and had a passion for all things Gamecock. She was a 36 yr. full scholarship donor to the University of South Carolina and attended every sporting event possible.
Wink was predeceased by her Parents, a brother George Coleman Ammons, Jr. her husband Frank Edward Culclasure and her son Frank Edward “Butch” Culclasure, Jr.
She is survived by several great nieces and nephews, her close friends Kat Brabham, Marie and Summer Fulmer. Wink also leaves behind her “Other Family” Byrd and Susan Smith and her Grandchildren, Kayce Smith Rutledge, Megan Smith Zepeda and their Families. Her Life & Memory will be forever cherished.
