Eddie Sherwood Smith

Eddie Sherwood Smith, 74, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Eddie was born on December 18, 1950 in Lewes, Delaware. He was a son of the late William Harry and Elsie Hall Smith. He worked many years for Cryovac. Eddie loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed reminiscing about his time living in Conway. Eddie had a sense of humor and loved making others laugh. He was always quick to lend a helping hand.

Surviving are his girlfriend, Evelyn Goodson, of the home; three sons, Chris Murphy (Julie), Charles Smith and Barry Smith (Natalie); one daughter, Andrea Mackessy (Shaun); nine grandchildren, Jessica Moore (Matt), Justin Smith, Brittany Elder (DJ), Corey Smith, Camry Mackessy, Dillon Smith, Ryan Mackessy (Madison), Owen Smith and Joshua Murphy. Six great-grandchildren, Cooper Moore, Isaac Moore, Laina Jones, Ryker Smith, Riggs Smith and Adalynn Mackessy; two brothers, Billy Smith (Louella) and Richard Smith (Mae); one sister, Carol Kitchens (Cliff); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Eddie was predeceased by four brothers, Kyle Smith, Gary Smith, Roger Smith, Dennis Smith and one sister, Barbara Tumblin.

Eddie was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.

A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at a later date, to be determined.
