Earline Henson, 93, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2021, in Greenville, SC. She was the daughter of the late Waco Barrett Manley and Martin Claude Manley, born on March 17, 1928. Earline is survived by sons: Douglas Heyward Henson (Lisa) and Patrick Manley Henson, grandchildren: Silas Henson, Ike Henson, Patti Henson, Holly Henson, Ashton Thompson, and Rebekah Henson; nieces: Frankie Howard Hesse and Ann Manley Yeargin; daughter in law: Mary Ann Henson; great-granddaughter: Madison Henson. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Heyward Henson Sr.; sons: Andrew Barrett Henson and Martin Harvin Henson; brother: Andrew Harvey Manley; and a sister: Ruth Manley Howard. Earline grew up in Woodside and graduated from Parker High School. After graduation, she worked in the payroll dept at Woodside Mill until she married Douglas H. Henson. Earline’s devotion to family and friends was renowned, she took in and cared for them as though they were her own. She made sure everyone had all they needed whether from the garden or the thrift store. Earline loved more than anything to give to others. One of her favorite hobbies was working in her yard and most days that is where you would find her. Her laughter would light up a room, and her positive attitude and zest for life make others gravitate towards her. Earline would sit and swing on her porch for hours listening and talking with anyone that dropped by for a visit. Earline was certainly one of a kind. Her kitchen was the heart of her home and it was always filled with food, family and friends gathered around her table. There never was a stranger in her home. She loved sewing on her old peddle singer sewing machine and made many things to include clothes, curtains, and small tokens of love to name a few. Should she be reunited with her granddaughter Brooke Henson may she hold her in her loving arms. Earline will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
