Douglas Keith Wofford, a cherished stone mason, devoted family man, and passionate outdoorsman, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on January 29, 2025. Born on March 11, 1956, in Westmoreland, PA, to Garnet May and Benjamin Franklin Wofford, Douglas's life was a testament to the values of creativity, love, and passion that he held dear. Douglas is also survived by his 5 brothers, Greg T Wofford, Wayne W Wofford, Gerald C Wofford, Ben F Wofford, Larry R Wofford, and one half brother, Tommy Fouse.
Douglas was born in Westmoreland Pennsylvania and then spent his early years in Vandergrift PA on their 60 acre family farm which laid a strong foundation for the remarkable life he would lead. He grew up with the enduring love of his parents and later shared that love with his own family. Douglas married the love of his life, Jeanne Cameron Wofford, and together they built a life filled with joy and laughter. Their union was blessed with a son, Benjamin Wofford, who, along with his wife Chrissy, gave Douglas the joy of being a grandfather to Trevor, Dillon, and Cody.
Douglas's family grew through the years as he welcomed his stepsons, Kevin Klotzbier and his wife Lynn, and Brian Klotzbier. His role as a grandfather expanded with the addition of John Luke Klotzbier, Katilyn Klotzbier, Brian Jr. Klotzbier, and Jasmine Morgan, who all brought immense happiness to his life, and his three great grandchildren, Van James Hammond, Cheyenne Brooke Hope, Indie Faith Klotzbier.
Professionally, Douglas was known for his skillful hands and creative spirit as a stone mason. His work was not just a job but an art form, where he poured his soul into every project, leaving a legacy of beauty in the structures he crafted. His colleagues in the trade respected him for his dedication and the mastery of his craft.
Outside of work, Douglas found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water's edge, rod in hand, waiting for the next big catch. At home, he loved watching the deer that frequented his backyard along with the many hummingbirds that visited every single day, a reminder of the beauty and serenity of nature that he so loved.
Those who knew Douglas will remember him as a man of great creativity, love, and passion. He approached every aspect of his life with a warm heart and a generous spirit. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
