Douglas Earn Lewis

October 20, 1963 — June 18, 2023

Douglas Earn Lewis, better known as Doug, was a man who never met a stranger and could talk his way into or out of anything, including traffic tickets. Born on October 20, 1963, in San Diego, CA, Doug passed away on June 18, 2023, in Spartanburg, SC, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and a family who adored him.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Billie Cinko, and their children Jonathan, Jessica, James, and Leona. He was also the proud grandfather of J.J., Olivia, Timothy, Talon, Brighton, Braydon, Anthony, Bella, Ryker, Carter, and Wilder. Dough is also survived by two nieces Monica and Danae and a nephew Nick. Doug's family extended beyond his immediate circle, including his sisters Donna and Dana "Bubble Butt," and their three children Reyna, Isiah and Joshua. A niece Annika "Baby Girl," nephew Mason "Jar-Jar," and his loyal canine companion, Mister.
Throughout his life, Doug held various jobs, including Security Officer, Tow truck Driver, Mechanic, Puppet master, and Family Therapist. He was a jack of all trades who could fix anything, and his unique sense of humor made him a favorite among coworkers and clients alike. Doug's interests included watching golf, riding his motorcycle, and being the life of the party. Known affectionately as "DougDoug," he would often ask, "Who wants to play with DougDoug?" As he stated countless of times "He was proud to be a Lewis."
Doug's love for his family was unconditional and without hesitation. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren, and family was everything to him. His ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved was a testament to his warm and friendly nature. Doug's laughter was contagious, and his presence could light up a room. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, and then make a joke about how you looked better in it than he did.
Funny, friendly, and loving are just a few words that best describe Doug. He had a knack for making people laugh, even in the most challenging situations. His comedic timing was impeccable, and his wit was as sharp as a tack. Doug's humor was a gift that he generously shared with everyone he met, and his memory will live on through the countless stories and jokes that he left behind.
As we gather to celebrate Doug's life, let us remember the joy and laughter he brought to each of us. He often let everyone know that “He could find humor in everything.” and had a heart as big as his personality. Doug's legacy will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched with his humor and love.
In the words of Doug himself, "Who wants to play with DougDoug?" Today, we remember and celebrate the man who always wanted to play, laugh, and love with all of us. Doug, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
