Dorothy “Dot” Jean Leever Leineke, 90, of Mauldin, SC, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Born July 3, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Gustave and Catherine Leever, she was the beloved wife of the late Edward “Ted” Leineke. She and Ted remained in Michigan for many years, raising their family and participating in the sport of competitive roller skating. They later moved to Orlando, FL, where they both worked for Walt Disney World, a job (and a place) they loved. She retired in 1998 and the couple moved to Mauldin, SC, to be near their family.
She is survived by a sister, Catherine (husband, Don) Yadlosky of Norton Shores, MI, and brothers Richard (wife, Ida) Leever of Anaheim, CA, and James (wife, Carol) Leever of Taylor, MI; a daughter, Cheryl Gohs (husband, Gerald); her grandchildren, Richard Gohs (wife, Angie), Terrence "Terry" Gohs (wife, Michelle), Tracy Gohs, Mark Leineke (wife, Jean), Mathew Leineke, and Angela "Angie" Gohs Grembecki; nine great-grandchildren; and many close family, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Edward “Ted” Leineke, and a son, Michael.
A service to honor her life will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
